BURNING LIES, THE NOVEL
In 1959 Elsa Heath is caught up in a love affair and department store fire. Unwittingly she became the focus of a cover-up by The Establishment.
Decades later, her daughter Beth searches for answers, only to find disturbing secrets… and that the past can still threaten the present.
Loosely based on the true story of a famous Liverpool department store fire in 1960. This story is personal - a relative of Maxine’s went shopping one day and never returned. The subject of the fire was taboo in the family, until she began researching it, only to discover that the eleven victims did not receive the justice they deserved and those responsible were not held to account.
